Frequently Asked Questions
Let me summarize here most of the informations I have been asked by couples contacting me to shoot their Wedding or to make a portrait session (being that an Engagement, pre-Wedding, Anniversary or Honeymoon). Most of the times, infact, the couple wants to be sure about what they get by booking a photoshoot. This is also important to explain the way I work in a better way.
How long will we wait for the photos?
It depends on the date your event is held. At the beginning of the season there is less queue to be edited and processed, so weddings in April and May are usually delivered in ca. 2 months. Summer weddings may take more. I personally care about the editing (selection) and post-processing, and if I am travelling to shoot events, I can't edit them at the same time. By the way, not a single wedding is delivered after six months from the event. A preview is sent immediately, though.
Can we have the RAW files of our wedding photoshoot?
I can give you the RAW files (digital negatives) without any problem, yes. RAW files are important for archiving purposes. In decades from now we might have way better tools to process the RAW files of today. You have the right to store them securely.
Of course you are supposed not to edit and publish a photo of mine on your own. This would be disrespectful of the author's vision.
Is there any album included in your packages?
I am a big lover of printed works. I print photos on my own. 30 fine-art prints are always included in my Wedding photoshoots, as my special gift to let you have the beginning of a great collection of fine-art printed pieces. Additional prints, albums and photobooks are to be ordered separately. I will be happy to print anything you want in my studio (high quality giclée, pigment-based inks), but if you prefer to print with external labs I can give you the file with correct resolution and exact colors. Handcrafted wooden boxes available, as well.
Do you also provide video services?
I have a restricted niche of talented videographers I like to work with, yes! Depending on the location of your event and your budget, I will suggest you the best professional you may find for your Wedding video.
Do you shoot alone?
All of the photos and real weddings you see on my website are shoot by myself. I would say it's up to you to choose: most of people prefer the discretion of one single photographer, being less obtrusive than two operators. Some others think that two photographers is more reliable and don't care about having more pressure and presence. So… you choose!
Do you provide high-resolution files?
You get a few different collections, yes! All of them will be delivered by digital download.
- the whole photoshoot in form of preview (low-res black & white photos straight-out-of-the-camera)
- a broad selection of 500 / 1000-ish photos, partially processed, for you to help me choosing the final selection
- a final selection of nearly 250 high-resolution, fully post-processed and ready-to-print photos.
As you can see, it's a step-by-step process carried over together with the clients, to deliver the best product as possible and, most important, the exact product they are looking for. A tailor-made editing!
Can we also have some classic portraits with family?
Of course! I don't usually publish them because I find they don't add much more to my photography, but photos with your best men, bridesmaids and relatives are almost mandatory, otherwise they will first kill me, then you! But remember to ask me about these photos with your closest people, otherwise my main concern is to shoot candid moments and make a reportage of spontaneous photos, without telling anyone what to do, and formal portraits might get lost on the way.
How much does a wedding photographer cost in Italy?
It really depends on what you look for. High quality photographers are usually more expensive than the average price tag you might find for a full day coverage. You can hire cheaper photographers, but usually the cheaper you go, the less "authorial" the work will be and your wedding photos will look like millions of other ones' with very poor personality. Top photographers tend to strongly characterize their work and to be recognized by anyone, just as painters, sculptors, graphic designers and visual artists in general.
Avoid trusting photographers who offer themselves to shoot for free or for a very low cachet just because your venue is attractive. They only aim to blog about it and to look like they work in luxury places, cause they are not able to get prestigious weddings the proper way. Therefore, they are not qualitatively reliable and you will be disappointed about the job done.
Let's talk about your expectations and your desired budget. We will surely find the best compromise for your event!
